When making the investment in a latex mattress, accept no compromise. Foamsource (a division of Boulder Comforts), has been manufacturing premium latex mattresses in Boulder, CO since 1985. A family owned business, the Boulder Comforts staff has a combined expertise of over 50 years in dealing with 100% natural latex mattresses and custom foam mattresses.
Here’s what our customers have to say:
We just wanted to thank you for the great service, and to extol the virtues of your long-lasting mattresses. We bought our original latex mattress at the Foam Source back in 1991--18 years ago. We chose a firm mattress, which was just perfect for my husband and me back then, and we've enjoyed many restful nights on that bed over the years. More recently, however, we had come to the conclusion that we needed a softer sleeping situation--numerous sports injuries and just general aging (of us, not the mattress!) have caused us to sleep less comfortably.
On visiting your store last month searching for an upgrade, we were amazed to learn that we could keep using the latex core from our old mattress (which is as good as new inside the cover) and simply add a new 2" soft latex topper. We took your advice and also splurged on a beautiful new cover that accommodates the extra height. Now, it looks like we have a brand new 8" mattress, for much, much less. And, we did the environmental thing and kept our still-good mattress out of the landfill. Most importantly, we are sleeping very comfortably now--the extra 2" soft topper cushions us in luxury. Ahhh!
Many thanks,
C + D
FoamSource 100% Natural Latex Mattress Components
100% Natural Latex
The popularity of the 100% natural latex mattress is a result of its amazing combination of comfort and durability. Latex can be produced in a variety of firmness levels, which can be layered to create the perfect combination of body support, weight distribution and relief of pressure points.
The fact that natural latex is a sustainable resource, produced from the rubber tree, is an attractive quality to many who are looking for alternatives in the materials that they utilize for their home environment.
The use of wool batting in organic covers with a latex mattress provides sufficient protection to by-pass the widespread use of the chemical fire-retardants that saturate most conventional inner-spring mattresses. The experience of sleeping on a high quality latex mattress is a reminder that nature often does know best!
Value of Natural Latex
Each rubber tree weeps 15 grams of latex daily. A queen mattress core needs the daily output of 2500 trees spread over 12 acres of rubber plantation, providing a living to eight rubber tappers. Interestingly, these rubber trees accounts for the removal of 143 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide from the environment in 1 year.Talalay Process 100% Natural Latex

Benefits of Organic Wool
Wool batting creates an organic sleeping surface that is compliant with the current fire codes without the need for added chemical fire-retardants. Studies show that people sleeping with wool bedding have a lower heart rate, less sleep disturbance, and increased duration of beneficial REM sleep. Wool thermo-regulates and is remarkably comfortable in all seasons. In the winter it warms you without overheating or causing 'clamminess'. Conversely, in warmer seasons, it actually helps to keep you cool by wicking moisture away from your skin. This capability makes wool the ideal fiber for bedding as it helps your body to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the night, regardless of the season.
Eco Wool Batting
Our Eco Wool batting from the Wool Gatherer Carding Mill is the highest quality batting we have worked with in the past 25 years of using wool in our bedding. Since our wool is grown and produced without the use of any chemicals, the result is a softer and more resilient wool batting.
Why We Love Eco Wool
- Supports small family farmers in the USA
- Encourages sustainable farming with minimized chemical use
- Lasts for many years and maintains resiliency and give like no other fiber
- Works great for those who suffer from allergies and sensitivities
